Beach Front Self Build – When Lowfield Timber Frames were approached by Anglesey Builders Ltd to quote for an unusual project on the island the team were keen to take on the development. From site surveys and discussions with the builders it was apparent that there were large obstacles to overcome. The first one being that the new home was to be built over looking the beach which had no vehicle access.
With a can-do attitude and positive approach to problem solving, the solution was the use of heavy plant to transport the panels and cassettes from the lorries to the site along the beach during low tide. The erection team were able to complete the panel build up in under three weeks.
The timber frame kit sits on a steel structure, giving it safety from the elements and outstanding views over Pentraeth beach. I think we can all agree that this build is a truly remarkable place to live.
