    The Timber Frame Process

The timber frame process below will provide you with a brief outline of your timber frame journey, making your plans a reality.

    • 01. Week 0 - Placement of Order
      • Review & Approval: Thoroughly review the quotation and discuss any specification changes with the sales team.
      • Proceed with Contract: Once the specifications and pricing are agreed upon, instruct the sales team to proceed with the contract.
      • Documents & Payment: Submit the latest drawings (in DWG or IFC format), contract paperwork and make any agreed payments to formalize the agreement.
    • 02. Weeks 1-3 - Preliminary Design & Engineering
      • Project Coordination: Your primary point of contact at LTF will be the Project Coordinator, who will assign a skilled timber frame designer and engineer to begin the design process.
      • Preliminary Load Analysis: During this phase, we can generate preliminary load-bearing wall mark-ups or engineered line & point loads.
    • 03. Weeks 4-6 - Design Approval
      • Review General Arrangements: You will receive the General Arrangements for your review. It's crucial to carefully check the overall dimensions, structural opening sizes, and other specifications as these will directly influence the timber frame kit delivered on-site.
      • Approval: Once the review is complete, send your approval to proceed with the ‘Design for Manufacture’ stage. Please note that any changes to the timber frame kit after this stage may result in additional design charges.
    • 04. Weeks 7-8 - Design for Manufacture
      • Final Design Integration: Once approved, the timber frame designer will integrate the full engineering details into the manufacturing specifications and prepare a comprehensive site pack with assembly instructions for the erector.
      • Introduction to Contracts Manager: If LTF is responsible for both supply and erection of the kit, you will be introduced to your Contracts Manager, who will serve as your main contact for coordinating site activities.
    • 05. Weeks 9-11 - Production
      • Manufacturing: All components of your timber frame kit will be processed and prepared for efficient assembly in our state-of-the-art production facility. This phase ensures that the building’s structural frame and additional components are manufactured to exact specifications.
    • 06. Week 12 - Delivery
      • On-Site Delivery: The timber frame kit will be delivered to the site according to the agreed schedule, ready for the erection team to begin their work.
    • 07. Weeks 12+ - Erect
      • Assembly & Erection: The erection team will begin assembling the timber frame on-site, following the provided instructions to ensure a smooth and efficient build process.
