Code for Sustainable homes

The Code is being introduced to improve the overall design of all new homes by introducing mandatory requirements for energy and water usage, to reduce a dwellings CO2 emissions and water usage and improve a dwelling sustainability by having minimum standards for Materials, Health & Wellbeing, Surface Water Run Off, Waste, Management, Pollution and Ecology.

Energy, the most cost effective and simplest way to meet the 25% improvement over the building regulations Part L (1A) 2006 and to gain the mandatory score for a level 3 is to improve a dwellings thermal performance, have minimal thermal bridging and excellent levels of air-tightness.

The SIPS and Timber Frames systems from Lowfield Timber Frames can provide a very cost effective solution in meeting these requirements with U-Values, depending on system, ranging from 0.26 Wm2/K to 0.11 Wm2/K, minimal thermal bridging and excellent air tightness achievable.
