Do timber frame buildings last as long as steel framed/brick ones?

Timber frames have been used in construction for hundreds of years. Some of our most historically significant buildings have timber frames which are still standing strong. Modern timber frames are even more robust, having the benefit of modern preservatives, design techniques and improved building practices. A timber frame home will stand for as long as any other modern building.
